In this experiential class you will learn:
★ the causes of the above-listed conditions and more;
★ pre-disposing contributors to foot pain and how they can be offset;
★ a hands-on protocol to address bunions, hammertoes, peripheral neuropathy, plantar fasciosis (fasciitis) and tarsal tunnel syndrome;
★ simple actions you can teach clients that can prevent and/or lessen their foot pain;
★ the advantages and disadvantages of shoes; which to wear and when.

Review the anatomy of the lower legs and feet. Wear clothes that allow access to the feet and lower legs and the ability to stretch.
Massage table (reflexology chair will not work); sheet; foot tub; towel; long rope or belt or scarf (for stretching); writing utensil; highlighting pen and either shea or cocoa butter.
Who Can Attend
Certified reflexologists; massage therapists with at least an introductory level of reflexology education (2+ days) and experience practicing. (This is not a basic reflexology training.)

- Kelly Urso will be filling us in on the many things she has learned in her legislative class. She is also posing the question, "Do you want to see Reflexology be a licensed field? Why or why not?" Please be prepared for a lively and eye-opening discussion!
- Are you going to the RAA Conference? We'll talk about why you should consider going and who is attending.
- Our guest speaker is Karen Bruscini. Karen is an RN, and has been practicing holistic energy work for the past 28 years. She is the owner of Hands of Wisdom II in Hope Valley, RI, where Barbara Hodson has her practice. Karen will be speaking about "The Human Electromagnetic Field".
- Come - meet new members, catch up with members you haven't seen in a while, and learn something new.
RARI's annual Cadaver Lab/Study will take place on Sat. Feb. 18th from 9 am - 12 pm at The University of Rhode Island.

Please join us at our Fall Quarterly Meeting.
Our guest speaker will be Sarah Daigle , a Thai Massage therapist, Reiki Master Teacher and 1000 hr certified Yoga Instructor. She has been in the holistic field for 12 years in the Rhode Island and surrounding areas. Her mission and passion in life is to help assist her clients in a deeper healing process. With proper tools, the body can be re-corrected back to it's original balance.
The presentation at the Reflexology Association of RI will discuss what Reiki is, how it works and how it could benefit/ support any healing modality.

Hand Reflexology doesn’t share the same reputation as Foot Reflexology – Yet! Nancy hopes to change that perception. She’ll be talking about the benefits of Hand Reflexology and how it can enhance your business and your client’s lives. There will be a short presentation, round table discussion, and demonstrations of several different positions of comfort for you and your client during a session. In the workshop we will use techniques from Classical reflexology, Nerve reflexology, The Swedish Karl-Aksel Lind method, Danish muscle reflexes, trigger points and more.
