I first became interested in Reflexology around 2002. I already was a Reiki practitioner loved working with energy but wanted more... I came across a picture of the foot reflexology map and was fascinated with the reflex points!
I feel reflexology is a gift from my mother who was a diabetic and took care of her feet till her passing. At that time I was a patient of Dr Victoria Malchar who is a chiropractor and still am. I was always drawn and mesmerized of her many pictures of the anatomy she has hanging on her office walls. I told her about my interest in Reflexology she got all excited and said, “Go get certified and come work for me!” That is exactly what I did! To this day we still work together. I worked in her office for 7 years and now have my own office in Cranston to this day. I've been doing reflexology at the North Kingstown Senior Center for the past 14 years one day a week for a small fee. Love everyone there-its a way to give back your gift of reflexology.
To stay motivated with my practice I joined RARI in 2004 and then became a board member for seven years. It is a experience I recommend to all Reflexologist starting out. It is a great way to get to know your colleagues and of course share your experiences and reflexology exchanges:))
What I love about my job is meeting and caring for people who really want to feel better about themselves. I have client's that have been with me as long as I have been doing reflexology. It is always amazing to me to listen to my clients feedback after a session - how accurate the reflexology points are!
The future of Reflexology is going to become the next "New Good" thing to do for yourself! I feel people really want to take better care of themselves in a more alternative way. People are starting to listen to their bodies and realizing there is a better way than to just take meds for what ails them - the physical touch has amazing results!
When I am not working I love to spend time with my family, grandchildren, my new puppy Gracie Rose and my many friends.
My husband and I manage a Duck Pin Bowling league every Tuesday which is a lot of fun. You can also find me at a yoga class or working out with my personal trainer to keep my mind, body and soul fit!
I find working all three reflexology maps - on your hands, ears and feet during the same session provides better results than doing just one area. Benefits occur sooner and last longer when you work all three areas. I feel my unique way of incorporating Reflexology and Reiki gives my clients lasting results.
Lastly some food for thought...
"Your body holds deep wisdom. Trust in it. Learn from it. Nourish it. Watch your life transform and be healthy."
Thank you, Geri!
